Finished a first aid course again yesterday... mind you, it was nice to finall y be getting paid to do the thing instad of having to pay for it... got 100% .... again.... god those first aid lectures are boring. Aso have to go get more army stuff in preperation for winter...
Rovers is also starting up, so i've been trying to figure out when people can do it and such, so we can get together and figure out what the heck we're doing.
School's going okay.... almost caught up in my bio notes here, though i still need to do all the text books readnig.... shyt. Also need to do a few random assignments all over the place. Should try to do that tonight.
Also got a bit of a slap in the face today in medical sciences... we were planning on analyzing the practicality of the DNA reconstruction techniques in Jurassic Park.... today our prof sent out and e-mail saying works of fictino were not appropriate... shyt.
Sarah was finally back in anthropology... i don't think i ever talked about this on this blog did i? If i did, then you get another summary. In essence, she hadn't been in class for more than a week, then she wasn't at the army for the mess meeting... which kinda sucked since i was hoping we could grab a drink or something while we were there. Anywho, so i was starting to wonder where she was, and was getting a touch concerned. She was finally back in class today, which is good, since i was going to call her today if she wasn't back. I guess she was in the hospital all last week, no idea why. She wasn't forthcomming, and i didn't want to press it. She got out on saturday i guess.
Making a fair bit of money with the army... which is good, since i seem to be spending so much more for some reason.
Also need to get a credit card... hmmm

Yes.... so school is giong fairly well. didn't bother going to the physics tutorial, i figure today i'll be much more productive doing the stuff on my own, at home. Though at this point i've pretty much missed it. My god... it's not 4.00 yet and i've already done 9 pages of bio notes based on the stuff we've been covering in class.... Which has given rise to some questions about the material that i must adress.....

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://radrunner.blogspot.com/2004/09/its-been-while.html' title='It's been a while.... Now who was telling me something about those who have big hands.... whoever it was, it was a mean comment, so damn you. okey dokey... in other news, had my first bio and chem labs today. they didn't go to bad. the highest point is that amanda, a girl i met today i not only in biomedical sciences, as well, she's also in both my labs, as well as my bio class. she was in my antrhopology class before she dropped it, and she has physics in the same slot as me... though not with the same teacher. i.e. her schedule is identical to mine... most weird. so i expect i shall be seeing alot of her. oh, incase you hadn't guessed, she's my lab partner ;) it is very weird making faces on thsi keyboard..

okey dokey, army yesterday too... fun fun, learned about going through minefields. most fun. wrotes a test at the beggining of the night on mines and minefields in general... i got 29/30 on the thing and i had never sat through a lecture on mines in my life... thanyou wwII movies :)
have the change of command on saturday.. so im supposed to be picking up a black burret from one of the corporal's in the unit. i was going to grab it from her while she was at work today, but she forgot... hopefully tmorrow.

get off at noon tomorrow.. yay! might be going rock climbing with grayson later... have to see what happens. hmmm i should probabily get to some of the huge piles of homework that are beggining to develope... to health sci things... bio lab, chem lab... phys assignment... bio quiz.... probabily a chem thing just to even things out... so off i go.

Post Army

Well... it is now friday, and once again i am home by 12:30... courtesy of my university schedule... though i guess the trade off is the bloody early mornings.

So... had my first day with the Army on wednesday. It wasn't too bad, though we stood around filling out paper work for four hours, which was rather annoying. I'm the only new recruit though, so they didn't care that i wasn't trained, they were all very happy to see me, i guess they don't get many new faces.

So i get to continue doing lots with them... i think i'm doing something with them every wednesday and every weekend for all of september... should be interesting.

Also finding lots of people i know in all my University classes, especially bio. Physics was interesting this morning, as everyone i knew in it wasn't there this morning... it must have been residency sleep in day... they must have had a hell of a party last night. though Nathalie was there for bio... just not physics or anthropology.... Found another person in my anthropology class too: Sarah... who was on BMQ with me. She also got sword into the army the same day as me, so we chatted for an hour between classes and such. She's infantry... and hating it. Apparently (so she says), all the infantry guys are very hardcore, very gung-ho, and all want there to be a war so they can be activated and put on regular force... insane people. Apparently they spent the night not only filling out paper work, but also parading and marching themselves into the ground. In comparison, my unit had attendance problems last year, and dosn't really acknowledge rank and such... So i had fun, she went through hell ;)

We're both thinking of going medics though... but both are afraid to ask. Her because of fear, me because of compassion... i think my unit would get heart-broken if the only new recruit left. So she's going to try to get the info, since she's around the medics more, to find out if its even possible for us to transfer (i.e. do the medics have room?), if not, then she's going to transfer to my unit... or so is the plan.

Now i'm waiting for my mom to get back... then i have alot to do... take back recycling, clean the car, get shoes, maybe go to the walk-in-clinic to find out my blood type... for dog tags.... So i shall be off for now... So far university is quite fun. Also drove myself and Kat in this morning... i think i have found a good way to park for university...

Is there a better way to spend a day?

By a better way to spend a day, i refer to yesterday... which had to be one of the best days so far since summer started... even though summer is now over.

The day began with getting up at 7:00, so that by 8:30, 9 of us were heading up by Nakiska to do a 26km day hike. Wow. It was truly amazing. Beautiful weather, wonderful company... we had a hell of a time. There's not really much i can say about that hike... all the details are just one big collage inside my mind... most memorable. I encourage any who read this to somepoint in their life do the 13km one-way trip into Ribbon Lake, near Nakiska... right by Kananaskis Village.

After the hike, we all crashed at my place, ordered a sh!t load of pizza, watched a movie, played pool, bashed George W., and had a smashing good time while the parents and younger brother were out camping for the weekend.

The oddest thing was the call i recieved from Virginia... why i was suprised i don't know... i mean, i should have expected her to call, yet it still came as a suprise. Even though we decided to go our seperate ways, as far as relationships are concerned, my bro and quite a few others for some reason still think she's my gf.... how many times do i have to tell them?

The fact she's on msn now means she did manage to find her internet password, which is good, since it was driving her insane (as she told me over the phone). The most interesting part of that conversation was that when we both hung up, it sounded like she had been searching for me to say something that i hadn't said... I'm still wondering what that might have been.

At this poing, i must be off to mow the lawn, since that is the one thing i was to do in my parents absence... I'm not looking forward to it. The one downside to the hike yesterday, was that the last 6km were really hard on my feet. I could feel my tendons tearing every step of that last little distance. Needless to say, they are very angry at me today, and the though of pushing the bloody gas mower all over the lawn is not making them any happier.

The only other point of mention yesterday was i got to play 9-th wheel... 4 Couples and yours truly... i didn't mind, i mean, with that many people you can't feel out of place. I just find it somewhat ironic that i went from being the only one with a significant other, to being the only one without.

Skipping, Moi?

Well, screw U of C 101 today. Woke up with all intention of going, however i thought my "personnal success sessions" were in the afternoon..... as it stands, they were in the morning, and then there was just the "Red Friday". And no, it is not called Red Friday due to all the 1st years getting suitably tortured, mutilated, etc., but because everyone is suppose to wear red to show pride and support in the U of C sports teams.... be still my beating heart. So needless to say, i saw no reason to really go to the thing today, so instead i stayed home... slept in till noon, helped my mom pack up the trailer, since the rest of my family is going camping this weekend...... except for me and Mike (the twin), who are going hiking with friends on Sunday.

I've also been testing out these show insoles i got for my damn army boots the other day.... hopefully they work, otherwise i have no idea what i'll do, and it would really suck if i had to drop out. The army is getting so bloody confusing: I need to report in for Parade or something on wednesday, but can't get any other details because i can't get ahold of anyone....... not good... since if i don't show up i'm considered AWAL (Absent without authorized leave), which is a very not-good thing....

I also am dealing with the horribly depressing prospect of being single..... my goodness does it suck... and no, i am not desperate damnit. It is somewhat ironic however..... i went from being the only one witha girlfriend, to being the only one without..... i think fate hates me right now.... well, the three fates anyway..... whatever.

It begins...

University is off... To a rather good start. Health Sciences looks like it's going to be a blast, though a hell of alot of work. Running into a few problems with my plans for getting into medicine in two years.... since it looks like i need 250 volunteer hours at a hospital.... not good. My Student leaders are hilarious, they are all way too happy. Makes for some fun times. I could go on to describe everything, but its all fairly predictable... tours, talks, address by the U of C president etc. Yada yada....

Saw Virginia (the gf) off at the airport this morning, she left for Queen's... So now i am single again. Somewhat relieveing and freeing, but let's face it... also rather depressing... now i have absolutely nothing to do.... Damnit, why'd she have to leave? It wasn't helped by the fact that fate likes toying with me, since on the radio when i was driving home (i think i was listening to Jack), a song came on called "Virginia don't go" or "Virginia why'd you go"....... something like that.

So now i am very, very, very bored...... need something to do before i go insane.... and before my friends get so much hw they can't do anything..... i'm gong insane and university hasn't even given me homework yet.... Holy mother of god i'm going to die.

Time for another Entry

Well, it hasn't been that many days since the last one of these... but once again i am very bored...
Yesterday was certainly an interesting day... Ended out going clubing at Nyla, which was somewhat unexpected. It was rather interesting, for lack of a better word, though we weren't there horribly long. Just after we got there, 4 cops and an ambulance showed up, as some girl had drunk a little too much and had to get her stomach pumped... Then there was the people that came with us... one of my hapkido buddies actually showed up... my god it's a small world. The rest of the clubbing was fairly cliché (look, my keyboard has accents!), though we did get to laugh at everyone when we left, since there was a line up outside the door and we just walked in.

Today has been, as i said, boring. Spent the afternoon looking at my oh-so-wonderful car... tomorrow is the day to get the parts i need and try ro fix the thing. Tomorrow is also the day my bandk-account shall take a huge plung as it attempts to pay for university.... =S So this is why people get jobs.....

At present, all my friends are otherwise engaged (yes, i have friends)... most of them seem to be out for dinner, or in Hawaii (damn you Stephen!), or working and making money.... So for now i shall leave this bloggie thingy once again... let us see what there is to do...

In typical fashion...

Well, in typical male fashion, i woke up at 1:15 this afternoon. What a pleasent sleep. I didn't go to bed until 4:00 or something because i was busy watching the Olympic triathalon... which to any of you that watched or have heard of it, did not go so well this year.

In also typical fashion, i have posted another blog entry the day after the first one, as i expect everyone who has one of these things has done. So yes.... i am not incredibly bored, in typical fashion yet again. At least tomorrow will be different..... Muahahaha, party day! The only problem is to choose wich drinking fest to go to...... hmmmmmm this could be a problem. Well, i do believe at this point i should attempt to find something more productive to do with my day than write fairly boring stuff on my blog all day long... no offence to those of you who live on yours.

The Beginning

Okey dokey.... well, with all my friends starting to get these things going... well, enough of them anyway that i'm starting to feel left behind, i have decided to join the growing movement of openess with all sorts of random people who could potentially be stalkers. If anyone out there is a stalker, that would like to talk to be because of my amazing personality and good looks (HAHA), you can reach me at 288-FOFF. Wonderful........ so...... my life....... what is happening....... hmmmmmmmm..... Not much....

Just got back from Vancouer a few days ago, where my family was crusing up and downt the coast in our new yacht.... hehe...... family yacht.... very kewl. The trip was unanticipated on my part, as i was planning on doing BMQ (Basic Military Qualification) with the Canadian Forces (i.e. Boot camp... except its politically correct), in which case i would be busting my ass for all of August, instead of going on vacation. Well... things didn't work out as planned, as after 6 days on course, i got Plantar Faciitis (ask your doctor, or local sports med student), which, in a nutshell, hurts your feet like hell and depending how bad it is its not fun to walk, let alone march, and in my case stand. So due to an inability to be mobile, i was granted medical RTU.... so in short i'm still in the reserve, but am completely untrained, and am waiting for another course to come along that fits my schedule, while also looking around for some cushy insoles for those bloody army boots.

Starting into university in a week or so... Lucky me. Biomedical Sciences, Health Sciences Program, Faculty of Medicine. My life will be a living hell. No social life for me.... damn. 1 Week left to party......... hmmmmmmmmm.

Well, i should be off for now.... the gf shall soon arrive.
